Aktiviteter i Monteverde

We have learned from experience that cultural activities have an extremely positive influence on students’ intellectual involvement in the acquisition of a foreign language. It is for this reason that we recommend taking part in everything the city has to offer.

The school organizes excursions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and the weekends. Cultural activities take place in the library 2-3 times per week and once a month we celebrate a "cultural week" with special events.

The most common activities are:

• Latin Dance classes ( salsa, merengue and cumbia)

• Cooking classes

• Literature or handicrafts workshops

• Coffee tour to Café Britt coffee plantation

• Waterfall rappelling

• White water rafting

• Arenal Volcano

• Poás Volcano

• Irazu Volcano

• Manuel Antonio National Park

• Jungle boat trip on the Sarapiquí River

• Tortuguero National park

This lush region of Costa Rica offers the visitor a plethora of ecotourism activities to choose from:

• Hiking: The cloud forest reserves have 24 kilometers of well maintained trails that highlight the abundance of biodiversity to be found.

• Canopy Tour: This wild and crazy adventure consists of traversing from treetop to treetop with specialized climbing equipment over a horizontal cable that is connected between the treetops of the cloud forest. And on each tree there is a platform on which you make stops to enjoy the scenery of the forest canopy.

• Suspension Bridge Tour: Not as adventurous as the canopy tour, this activity is recommended for people who would like a different perspective of the forest by walking on bridges suspended over cloud forest valleys giving you the chance to be next to the treetops. These walks don't require any equipment and any person can walk them.
